Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) is blessed by the outpouring of support they receive on a daily basis from the Fond du Lac Community. Money, volunteer hours, product, the ways to support are endless.
A very special shout out goes to Hierl Insurance for their recent donation of $2000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Each holiday season, Hierl Insurance elects to send out a Thanksgiving card to all their clients, letting them know which non-profit they will be donating money to. This year, they chose Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“When Susan called to let me know BBBS was the chosen non-profit for 2016, I couldn’t believe our good fortune!” said Tammy Young, Executive Director of BBBS. “BBBS relies on the donations we receive to help children in Fond du Lac County. All money received, stays local and goes right back into our program. When Susan delivered a check for $2000, I was speechless. Hierl Insurance made a BIG difference!”

Big Brothers Big Sisters assists children with social, emotional and character development through one-to-one mentoring relationships with caring adults. Children in the program come from a wide variety of backgrounds, many coming from single parent households, living at or below poverty level. Big Brothers Big Sisters matches children with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Big Couples or Big Families in a community or school based program. Children aged 6 through 13 can enroll in the program through a parent or guardian referral. Volunteers need to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license for the community based program, 16 years old for the school based program.
