Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Fond du Lac County is excited to announce the recent addition of Rae Nell Halbur as their Administrative Specialist.

Rae Nell, a marketing graduate of Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC), brings a wide range of skills and work experience to BBBS. While at MPTC she was chosen as Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, was presented with the FDL Area Foundation-Agnes Rose Memorial Scholarship and was a finalist for the MPTC 2012 Student of the Year.

In addition to her position at BBBS, Halbur works part-time as an on-air personality at Mountain Dog Media, covering local 4-H/FFA activities.

Rae Nell has over 40 years in volunteer procurement, youth mentorship and fundraising within 4-H where she has been a 4-H Leader for over 40 years. She is past-president of the FDL Area Women’s Fund and is active with the FDL Area Agri-Business Council. In addition, Halbur and her husband Ray own and operate Burledge Holsteins east of Fond du Lac. They milk 150 Registered Holsteins and operate about 300 acres.

“We are super excited to have Rae Nell on board!” said Tammy Young, Executive Director of BBBS. “Her background and connections within the Fond du Lac community make her the perfect Administrative Specialist for our agency. Her number one goal is to make sure our busy office is running smoothly. She will be performing a variety of office duties, including some marketing and grant writing. We’re thrilled to have her as part of the BBBS family!”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County is a United Way Agency that assists children with social, emotional and character development through one-to-one mentoring relationships with caring adults. The agency matches children with a Big Brother, Sister, Couple or Family in a community or school based program. Children aged 6 through 13 can enroll in the program through parent or guardian referral. Volunteers need to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license for the community-based program, 16 years old for the school-based program.
