Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Fond du Lac County is excited to announce a new board member, Ben Giles from the Fond du Lac YMCA

Giles is a dynamic, multi-faceted non-profit professional and public official in the Fond du Lac area. He currently works at the Fond du Lac YMCA as the Membership Director and Youth in Government Advisor and serves on the Fond du Lac City Council. Prior to getting elected to City Council, Giles started a Youth in Government program at the YMCA that teaches 6th-12th grade students leadership qualities and a better understanding of government through immersive experiences, conferences and workshops. In April of 2019, Giles added business owner to his resume as he started a production company called Laughable Productions LLC that specializes in Murder Mystery Dinner Theatres and Improv Comedy Shows.

Giles serves on multiple boards in Fondy including the Fond du Lac Festivals, the Young Professionals of Fond du Lac Advisory Council, The Envision the Initiative Strategic Planning Group, FDL City/County Government Building Board, Fond du Lac Advisory Parking and Traffic Board and the Library Board.

“After becoming a Big with Big Brothers Big Sisters this past spring, I knew I wanted to get more involved with the program,” said Giles.  “I’m very excited to join the Board of Directors and look forward to continuing to empower and inspire youth in the community through this amazing organization.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County is a United Way Agency that assists children with social, emotional and character development through one-to-one mentoring relationships with caring adults.  The agency matches children with a Big Brother, Sister, Couple or Family in a community or school based program.  Children aged 6 through 13 can enroll in the program through a parent or guardian referral.  Volunteers need to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license for the community-based program, 16 years old for the school-based program.  For more information about Big Brothers Big Sisters, call 920-922-8200 or visit www.bbbsfdl.org.
