Our Mission

To create and support 1:1 mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

Our Vision

All youth achieve their full potential.

Our History

Since 1967, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County (BBBSFDL) has been a trusted provider of evidence-based, community-based mentoring and remains the only local organization exclusively dedicated to professionally supported one-to-one youth mentoring.

BBBSFDL implements the nationally recognized Big Brothers Big Sisters community- and site-based mentoring models, which include comprehensive volunteer screening, required training, intentional matching, and ongoing professional supervision to ensure youth safety and relationship quality.

Founded in 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters has grown from a single New York City judge matching boys with caring adult mentors into the nation’s largest evidence-based mentoring organization, serving communities in all 50 states. The effectiveness of this model has been validated through rigorous evaluation and is recognized by the National Institute of Justice’s CrimeSolutions registry.

Locally, this proven approach has translated into meaningful outcomes for generations of youth in Fond du Lac County. BBBS outcome data show that high-quality, safe mentoring relationships are a powerful youth development strategy—helping young people build confidence, succeed in school, and envision brighter futures with the support of committed volunteers, families, and community partners.

Through the years, one thing has never changed—the power of one-to-one mentoring. Generations of families, volunteers, and community partners have stood beside young people in Fond du Lac County, helping them gain confidence, succeed in school, and dream bigger for their future.

Today, we proudly carry that legacy forward, creating life-changing relationships that strengthen not just kids, but our entire community.

Our Team

Behind every great mentoring match is a dedicated team of people who believe in the power of connection. Our staff brings heart, expertise, and a lot of enthusiasm to the work we do—supporting Bigs and Littles, strengthening relationships, and cheering on young people every step of the way. We’re proud to work alongside caring volunteers, families, and community partners to help local youth reach their full potential.
