What is Big Brothers Big Sisters?
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) is a voluntary program through which a professional support team oversees a mature, sincere adult volunteer in the development of a supportive, long-term friendship with a child. Our program focuses on the prevention or early intervention of potential difficulties that children may encounter or develop. recruiting, screening, enrolling, training and matching responsible volunteers with children on a one-to-one basis is done by the Enrollment Specialist at BBBS. BBBS works in conjunction with area schools, community social service agencies and other referral sources to better meet youths’ needs. The Match Support Specialists monitor and evaluate the progress of the match on a regular basis through required monthly contacts with the volunteer, child and parent/guardian.
