Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County held its sixth annual Halloweenie Street Party presented by Sabel Mechanical in Downtown Fond du Lac on Thursday, October 24th. The spook-tacular nighttime extravaganza raised over $16,000 to support local youth!
This year, there were plenty of vendors, activities, and treats for participants to enjoy on Main Street between Forest Avenue and 2nd Street. Attendees registered indoors at The Annex inside Coliseum Sports Bar & Grill then tried food and beverages from local favorites like Blue Line Tavern, Bob’s Pizza, Caribou Coffee, Catering by Juan, Coliseum Sports Bar & Grill, Craft City Bottleshop/Taproom, Envision Greater Fond du Lac Agri-Business Council, Fat Joe’s Burgers and Brew, Hang 10 Poke, Mr. & Mrs. Catering, Sully’s Tavern of Fond du Lac, and Throwback Pockets Bar & Grill.
In between tasty bites, partygoers could grab some swag at the BBBS table, shake their bones to music from DJ Marty Schibbelhut, test their speed with the Fond du Lac Police Department at the fast pitch radar throw, throw axes at Fondy Axe Company’s mobile axe throwing trailer, win special goodies from Hopper’s Screen Printing + Embroidery, learn about boxing with Midwest Boxing Champions, visit the SSM Health Boo Boo Crew for Band-Aids and lollipops, try disc golf with Throwback Pockets Bar & Grill, and spin the Wheel of Doom for fun prizes.
Individual/duo and group costume contestants gathered at the end of the night to show off their creativity for celebrity judges: Kari Koenigs from Blue Line Tavern, Courtney Steffes from Envision Greater Fond du Lac Agri-Business Council, and Karri Oelke from National Exchange Bank & Trust. Individual/duo and group costume favorites included Ursula, King of Halloween, Pennywise and Georgie, Minions, Where’s Waldo, and Saturday Night Live. The top costumes in each category won cash prizes, many of which were donated back to BBBS. Not only that, but the 50/50 raffle winner from vendor Sully’s Tavern of Fond du Lac also donated their winnings back to BBBS!
The Halloweenie Street Party is an annual fundraiser benefitting BBBS. This year’s planning committee was co-chaired by Alicia Hans LCSW and Amy Docter of BBBS.
