Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County held its seventh annual Halloweenie Street Party presented by Sabel Mechanical in Downtown Fond du Lac on Friday, October 31st. The spook-tacular nighttime extravaganza raised $18,000 to support local youth.

This year, the event took place right on Halloween night. Main Street was filled with numerous vendors, activities, and treats for participants to enjoy between Forest Avenue and 2nd Street. Attendees registered indoors at The Annex inside Coliseum Sports Bar & Grill then tried food and beverages from local favorites like Blue Line Tavern, Catering by Juan, Coliseum Sports Bar & Grill, Envision Greater Fond du Lac Agri-Business Council, Fat Joe’s Burgers and Brew, Hang 10 Poke, National Exchange Bank & Trust, Sal’s Pizza, Sully’s Tavern of Fond du Lac, and Throwback Pockets Bar & Grill.

In between tasty bites, partygoers could grab some swag at the BBBS table; shake their bones to music from DJ Marty Schibbelhut; throw axes at Fondy Axe Company’s mobile axe throwing trailer; test their speed with the Fond du Lac Police Department at the fast pitch radar throw; toss bags with Hopper’s Screen Printing + Embroidery; visit the SSM Health Boo Boo Crew for Band-Aids and lollipops; add finishing touches to their costumes with help from Fondy Face Painters; and take a spin at the Human Slot Machine for fun prizes.

Members of the Shut Up & Dance studio kicked off the costume contest with performances to some of our favorite Halloween songs. Contestants then gathered to show off their creativity for the judges panel comprised of BBBS staff members. Individual/duo and group costume favorites included Cousin Eddie from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Russel from Up, a flesh monster, a cow coaster, and Old MacDonald and his farm friends. The top costumes in each category took home cash prizes.

From sponsors, admissions, raffles, and other donations made throughout the night, the fundraiser brought in $18,000 to support local youth. All proceeds will help BBBS find, train, and match volunteers with children who need mentors in the community.

The Halloweenie Street Party is an annual fundraiser benefitting BBBS. This year’s planning committee was co-chaired by Dave Neumann of Verve, a Credit Union and Amy Docter of BBBS.
